The Illinois Farm Bureau has presented State Senator Dave Syverson (R-Rockford) with the “Friend of Agriculture” award.
“Agriculture represents the heart of the Illinois economy,” said Senator Syverson. “It is an honor to be recognized for my support of our state’s family farms.”
According to the Illinois Farm Bureau, this award honors state and federal legislators who understand the importance of Illinois Agriculture. Recipients of this award recognize the far-reaching benefits of Illinois’ agricultural products and the importance farmers play in providing quality food, fiber and fuel for our State, Nation and World.
“Senator Syverson works hard to take the views of our members to Springfield, and to make sure their voice is heard,” said Kevin Semlow, Director of State Legislation for the Illinois Farm Bureau. “There are a lot of competing interests in Springfield, and Dave is confident in his approach to engage on our behalf. We need to make sure that a leader like Dave returns to Springfield.”
“The needs of Illinois farms are similar to many other businesses, they need a state environment that permits then to grow and thrive without the overly burdensome regulations that Illinois has unfortunately become known for,” said Senator Syverson. “We must work to ensure all our businesses have a state where they can succeed.”
