SPRINGFIELD – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has once again named State Senator Dave Syverson (R-Rockford) a “Guardian of Small Business,” noting his years of service and leadership in the legislature as a pro-growth, pro-jobs lawmaker.
“It’s always been clear that we can’t tax our way into prosperity, we have to grow our economy naturally. Creating a climate where small businesses can grow and expand is a major key to adding new jobs and new economic growth,” said Senator Syverson. “It’s a an honor to again be recognized by the very men and women who are on the front line creating the jobs here in Illinois.”
NFIB has 11,000 dues-paying members representing a cross section of the state’s economy, making it the state’s largest small-business association. The organization hands out its “Guardian of Small Business” awards to lawmakers based on their pro-jobs voting records. According to the association, Senator Syverson was rated as having voted with the cause of small businesses 100% of the time.
“Our business owners and operators need allies in the General Assembly to make sure state government isn’t stifling the growth of jobs and the economy,” said Kim Clarke Maisch, Illinois Director for the NFIB. “Senator Syverson has proven time and again that he is an ally of the small business owners.”
