State Sen. Dave Syverson (R-Rockford) released the following statement after Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner delivered his budget address:

“Today Governor Rauner laid out his vision for where our budget negotiations should go,” said Sen. Syverson. “This guidance is important as we attempt to finally give the taxpayers the balanced budget that they have been demanding for years. We won’t be able to pass a budget without the Governor’s signature, so his input is an important part of the process. Now we in the legislature need to get back to the negotiations and make the tough decisions that will enable us to balance our budget with actual revenues, while enacting the critical reforms that will provide stability and growth to our state.”
