State Sen. Dave Syverson (R-Rockford) released the following statement:

“It’s very frustrating that Democrats have once again chosen to play political games rather than negotiate in good faith on a fair funding solution for all the children of Illinois. They have continued to drag out and delay this process with their unwillingness to move off of their version of Senate Bill 1. This legislation, as it passed the General Assembly, would send a disproportionate share of school funding to Chicago, which is not fair to the families and taxpayers in the rest of the state. Now it’s time for the Governor to make sure that we fix school funding without bailing out Chicago on the backs of downstate and suburban families.”
