On March 3, State Senator Dave Syverson (R-Rockford) received the Jim Guilinger Legislative Award from the Illinois Leadership Council for Agricultural Education (ILCAE) for his support of agricultural education and FFA student programs.
“As our number one industry and top employer, agriculture plays an integral role in Illinois’ economy, and I believe it is my responsibility as a lawmaker to ensure agriculture and agriculture education is supported and promoted within the General Assembly,” said Sen. Syverson. “It is an honor to receive this award from a distinguished group that is having such a positive impact on our young people.”
Sen. Syverson was presented the award during the annual Illinois Agricultural Legislative Day (IALD) at the Capitol. IALD brings members of the Illinois Association FFA to Springfield to speak with lawmakers about the importance of agriculture.
