A new law has eliminated the unnecessary blood type field from Illinois driver’s licenses.

House Bill 1120 removes non-certified medical information from the back of state-issued licenses, which often confused first responders due to their lack of accuracy.

State Senator Dave Syverson says this commonsense update improves efficiency and ensures that licenses only contain accurate and relevant information.
