Syverson Celebrates One-Year Milestone of Hard Rock Casino in Rockford

CHERRY VALLEY – State Senator Dave Syverson (R-Cherry Valley) is recognizing the one-year milestone of the Hard Rock Casino in Rockford.

“I worked for 20 years to make this project a reality and it was worth the wait. In the end, we got without question the best gaming partner in the world and at the best location possible to attract visitors from around the Midwest,” Syverson said.

Since its opening, the casino has drawn more than one million visitors to the region, offering a mix of entertainment, gaming, and premium dining that has quickly made it a destination in northern Illinois.

“What makes me feel good about this project is that everything I promised the community when working on legislation has not only been met but exceeded. Hundreds of jobs have been created, millions in local taxes generated, and millions donated to charitable causes,” Syverson said. “I want to personally thank Hard Rock for their willingness to invest in Rockford and for exceeding all the commitments they made as part of the agreement.”

The casino’s success has delivered a direct benefit to local families. It has produced over $8 million in local tax revenue, with a significant portion directed toward the Rockford Promise Scholarship Program, giving students the chance to pursue higher education tuition-free.
