State Lawmakers Return for Veto Session

State lawmakers are now back in Springfield for their fall session. This is a time for Illinois taxpayers to be alert. While taxpayers are busy with fall activities like yard work, getting ready for Halloween, and preparing for Thanksgiving, this is the time some politicians look to sneak in new taxes and fees.

Among the proposals still being considered by the ruling party are their $1.50 delivery tax, sales taxes on services, and a streaming tax for small businesses that advertise on social media. These proposed taxes are bad enough, but when you hear this money would be used to bail out Chicago and its transit system, it gets even more frustrating.

Even if we are able to stop these new proposed taxes this fall, you can fully expect they will bring them back in January.
