⚡ Syverson Criticizes Passage of Flawed Energy Omnibus Bill

Senator Syverson criticized the passage of the controversial Energy Omnibus, saying it fails to provide relief for families facing rising energy costs. Instead, it hands ratepayers an $8 billion hike, expands unproven battery projects, and removes local control, allowing large installations near homes. He says Illinois deserves a plan that lowers costs and strengthens reliability—not one that doubles down on failed policies.

🚧 Controversial Transit Legislation Passes General Assembly

Democrats pushed through Senate Bill 2111 in the final hours of the fall Veto Session, drawing sharp criticism from Senator Syverson. “Hundreds of millions of dollars in road projects across our communities will now be delayed because more than $500 million is being diverted to bail out Chicago’s mass transit system,” Syverson said.
