SPRINGFIELD, IL – As part of the annual Illinois Pork Producers Association (IPPA) Legislative Day, hundreds of pork and cattle producers descended on the State Capitol on March 25. A key part of that day is recognizing and honoring their 2014 IPPA family of the year.

This year, Gerald and Nancy Hartmann of Maple Park were selected as 2014 ‘Family of the Year.’ The Hartmanns are a fourth-generation family who were represented in the Capitol by one of their sons Doug Hartmann and his wife Kathy.

The Hartmanns are pictured on the floor of the Illinois Senate with State Rep. Bob Pritchard (R-Hinckley) and State Sen. Dave Syverson (R-Rockford).
