State Senator Dave Syverson spent the weekend connecting with residents at two popular community events in the district.

“These events showcase the strength and spirit of our communities,” Syverson said. “It’s always great to visit with families and support the organizations that make northern Illinois a great place to live.”

On Saturday, Sen. Syverson attended the Rhythm of the Heart Music Festival in Loves Park, where families enjoyed live music and perfect weather. The Senator thanked Mayor Jury, his staff, and the volunteers who helped make the free festival another successful gathering for the community.

On Sunday, Sen. Syverson stopped by the North Boone District #3 Firefighter’s Association’s 50th Anniversary Chicken BBQ Fundraiser. More than 2,000 pounds of chicken were grilled for the annual event, which raises money to support the local fire department.
